GREELEY, Colo. – The Northern Colorado women's soccer team continues its early-season home stand this Thursday, August 28, when the Bears welcome Southern Utah to Jackson Stadium.
UNC looks to rebound after a hard-fought 2-1 loss to Fordham last Saturday. Despite the loss, Lexi Tuite continued her strong start to the season by netting her second goal, with the assist coming from Brooke Holmberg.
Southern Utah enters the match up on the heels of a 1-1 draw against Boise State. The Thunderbirds have played three matches so far this season, including two against Big Sky Conference opponents—suffering a 3-0 defeat to Montana and a 2-1 loss to Eastern Washington.
Historically, Northern Colorado has dominated the series, holding a 7-2-3 all-time record against SUU. The Bears will look to extend that success and earn their first home win of the season, using Thursday's match up as a springboard for building momentum through the rest of the schedule.
Fans are encouraged to show their support and help "Defend the Den" during Thursday night's game, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Jackson Stadium.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Southern Utah finished the 2024 season with an 2-10-5 overall record and an 0-5-2 mark in WAC play. The Thunderbirds went 2-5-2 at home and 0-5-3 on the road.
