Van Haaren Wraps Season at NCAA West First Round with Strong Effort in Long Jump

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Northern Colorado track & field continued action at the 2025 NCAA West First Round on Thursday at E.B. Cushing Stadium, hosted by Texas A&M.
Junior Kiana Van Haaren represented the Bears in the women's long jump, posting a best mark of 5.77 meters (18-11¼) on her second attempt. She finished 43rd overall in a highly competitive field.
Van Haaren entered the meet ranked 33rd in the region with a season-best jump of 6.33 meters, which she recorded earlier this spring. Though she did not advance to the NCAA Championships, her appearance in the First Round capped a strong junior campaign for the Bears.

Jerome Campbell will compete in the 110-meter hurdles quarterfinals at 6:15 p.m. CT and the 100-meter dash quarterfinals at 7:35 p.m. CT.
Zander Cruzan will take the track in the 400-meter dash quarterfinals at 7:50 p.m. CT.
The top 12 finishers in each event will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon, scheduled for June 11–14.
