PREVIEW: Six Bears Qualify for NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado track & field will be well represented on the national stage as six Bears have qualified for the NCAA West First Round, set to take place at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The group features four women and two men who will compete against the top athletes in the region for a chance to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
QUALIFIERS: On the women's side, Monique Stewart earned her spot in the 800 meters after a strong outdoor campaign highlighted by consistent top finishes. Regina Mpigachai qualified in the 1,500 meters, continuing her standout season as one of the Bears' top distance runners. In the hurdles, Alexia Austin secured her place in the 100-meter hurdles, showcasing her speed and technique throughout the spring. Rounding out the women's qualifiers, Camaria Corder punched her ticket in the triple jump, bringing her explosive field event presence to the national stage.
On the men's side, Daniel Beckford will represent Northern Colorado in the 110-meter hurdles after posting qualifying marks during the outdoor season.
Tyler Rogers earned his berth in the long jump, adding to the Bears' field event representation at the regional meet.
UP NEXT: The NCAA West First Round will take place in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where competitors will look to finish among the top performers in their respective events to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
