Campbell Sets Meet Record, Van Haaren Earns All-Conference on Day 3 of Big Sky Championships

Northern Colorado advances multiple finalists as Bears shine in sprints, hurdles, and jumps heading into championship Saturday
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Northern Colorado built momentum heading into the final day of the Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships with standout performances on the track and in the field. The Bears secured several finals qualifiers, and an All-Conference honor, on Day 3.
Jerome Campbell turned in a show-stopping performance in the 110m hurdles, winning his heat in a meet-record 13.43, a time that ranks No. 11 in NCAA Division I and No. 9 in the NCAA West Region. He also clocked the fastest time in the 100m prelims at 10.25, heading into finals as the top seed in both events.

Edgar Garcia advanced to the 100m final with a season-best 10.47, placing third overall. Zander Cruzan ran a strong 46.45 in the 400m to lead all qualifiers, and Donovan Castillo joined him in the final after finishing eighth (47.98).

Moise Bennett earned the last spot into the 110m hurdles final with a time of 14.81 and recorded a season-best 55.23 in the 400m hurdles. In the 800m, both Dylan Wilson (1:51.95) and Nathan Plant (1:52.29) posted personal bests. Wilson also ran 3:57.54 in the 1500m prelims.
Kiana Van Haaren earned All-Conference honors with a third-place finish in the long jump, soaring 6.19m (20' 3.75") to secure a spot on the podium. On the track, she just missed the 100m final, finishing 10th in 12.08.

Sherika Thomas broke into UNC's all-time top 10 in the 100m hurdles, running a personal-best 14.19 to finish ninth overall, just outside the final. Vanessa Ward also posted a PR in the 400m hurdles (1:03.75), and Shantell Hafner ran 2:15.96 in the 800m.

In the field, Gwen Seelye threw 34.77m (114' 1") to place 10th in the javelin, and Alexa Oatman cleared a season-best 3.64m (11' 11.25") in the pole vault to finish 15th.
