Pollyea Posts Trio of PRs as Bears Wrap Up Combined Events at Big Sky Championships

Rembert and Piffarerio add season-best marks on Day 2 to close out strong efforts in the decathlon and heptathlon
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Northern Colorado wrapped up the combined events on Day 2 of the Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships with more personal bests and season highs, as Ryan Pollyea and Jameson Rembert closed out the men's decathlon, while Ciara Piffarerio completed her seven-event slate in the women's heptathlon.
Pollyea capped a strong overall performance with two personal bests on Day 2. He ran a lifetime-best 15.86 in the 110m hurdles to place fifth and clocked a PR of 4:54.65 in the 1500m for fourth. Pollyea also registered a new personal best in the javelin, tossing 41.48m (136' 1") to take eighth.
Rembert turned in a season-best throw of 44.38m (145' 7") in the javelin, finishing fifth in the event. He also ran 16.37 in the 110m hurdles and recorded a season-best time of 5:21.19 in the 1500m. Rembert cleared 3.00m (9' 10") in the pole vault to round out his competition.
Piffarerio completed her Big Sky heptathlon with a strong finish in the 800m, clocking 2:34.99 for 11th place. She posted marks of 4.71m (15' 5.5") in the long jump and 18.10m (59' 4") in the javelin to wrap up her competition.
The Bears now shift focus to the open events, with more athletes set to compete as the championship meet continues through Saturday.
