Bears Close Out Home Slate Against Tommies

Northern Colorado Honors 11 Seniors in Final Series of the Season; Three-Game Set Begins Thursday at Jackson Field
GREELEY, Colo. - The Bears will complete their home schedule this weekend with a three-game series against the Tommies of St. Thomas. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 15 with Friday and Saturday's games scheduled for 12 p.m.

The team will honor their 11 seniors prior to first pitch on Saturday.

A LOOK AT THE BEARS
Northern Colorado enters the weekend with an overall record of 17-31 with an 8-19 mark in league action to sit sixth in the Summit League standings. The Bears are coming off a series loss on the road to Oral Roberts last weekend where they lost in three straight games.

The Bears are hitting .276 as a team this season with 320 runs on 462 hits as they have registered 90 doubles, 12 triples, and 22 homeruns for a slugging percentage of .384 to go along with 232 walks and 344 strikeouts. Kai Wagner leads the way at the plate, hitting .337 with 16 doubles and 65 total hits to drive in 56 RBI.

UNC has registered a team ERA of 7.85 as they have allowed 420 runs (363 earned) on 563 hits, 219 walks and an opposing batting average of .324. Murphy Geinger is 1-4 on the year with a 5.77 ERA, allowing 53 runs on 95 hits with 28 walks and 73.1 innings pitched.

Head coach Mike Anderson is in his third season at the helm of the Northern Colorado Baseball program and has picked up a 44-103-1 record in that time.

The Tommies of St. Thomas are first in the Summit League standings, holding a 27-20 overall record and 19-8 league record. The Bears dropped all three games in Saint Paul in early April.

The Tommies are hitting .292 as a team this season with 320 runs on 461 hits as they have registered 100 doubles, 14 triples, and 39 homeruns for a slugging percentage of .447 to go along with 186 walks and 266 strikeouts. He has allowed 26 runs on 50 hits to go along with 58 strikeouts while holding opposing batters to a .229 average.
