Bears Stifled by Long Beach State in 2-0 Road Loss

Northern Colorado held to one hit as LBSU’s pitching dominates in Tuesday night matchup
LONG BEACH, Calif. – Northern Colorado fell 2-0 to Long Beach State on Tuesday night at the LBSU Softball Complex.
The Bears (7-19) were limited to just one hit in the game, struggling to generate offense against LBSU's dominant pitching.
Long Beach State (14-10) broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning with a run and added another in the fifth to secure the victory.
Isabelle DiNapoli went the distance for Northern Colorado, tossing six innings and allowing two runs on seven hits. She struck out one and walked five, taking the loss to move to 5-7 on the season.
At the plate, Krista Francia recorded UNC's lone hit, but the Bears were unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities, leaving three runners on base.
LBSU's Shannon Haddad was nearly untouchable, throwing a complete-game shutout while striking out five and allowing just one baserunner on a hit-by-pitch.

The Bears will host Santa Clara at Gloria Rodriguez Field for their 2025 home opener on Saturday and Sunday, March 22-23. Saturday's doubleheader starts at 1 p.m., while Sunday's begins at 10 a.m. Saturday features Kids Day and the Pink Game, while Sunday welcomes furry friends for Bark in the Park, sponsored by Scheels.
