Softball Places Four on the CSC Academic All-District Team

GREELEY, Colo. – Four players on the 2024 Northern Colorado softball team earned College Sports Communicators Academic accolades, the organization announced with the release of its annual award Tuesday.
Erin Caviness, Isabelle DiNapoli, Alison Steinker and Jaycie Gandert earned a spot on the all-district team, with College Sports Communications Academic All-District Team.
"I am so proud of Erin, Ali, Izzy and Jaycie," head coach Dedeann Pendleton-Helm said. "It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to balance athletics and be an excellent student! These four represent what it means to be a student-athlete.
Caviness, a graduate student pitcher from Thorton, Colorado secured a place on the team with a 4.0 GPA in master's in sports administration.
DiNapoli, a pitcher from Littleton, Colorado finished her junior campaign with a cumulative 4.0 GPA and is pursuing a bachelor's in sport exercise science.
Steinker, a senior infielder from Rancho Santa Margarita, California graduated with a bachelor's in sport exercise science. She completed her undergraduate degree with a 3.85 GPA.
Gandert, a junior infielder from Rio Rancho, New Mexico garnered a spot on the team with a 3.53 GPA through her junior campaign, working towards a bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science.
ABOUT THE CSC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAMS
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 18, 2024.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
