Bears Clinch BSC Championship with Idaho State win
Amailee Morales and Ella Gonzales drove in a run each for UNC in the 9-2 setback against the Ducks at Jane Sanders Stadium. Lauren Strathearn and Morales scored for the Bears.
Despite the setback, UNC clinched the championship when Idaho State defeated Weber State in Pocatello, Idaho. The teams concluded the suspended game on Friday, with the Bengals winning 7-6 in 10 innings.
Oregon jumped out to a 3-0 lead, with solo runs in the first three innings, before pulling away with four in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Morales led off the fourth with her team-high 12th home run of the season. Gonzales trimmed the margin to 3-2, with a two-out RBI single, scoring Strathearn.
