Storey Shines Out of the 'Pen Again For the Bears

OMAHA, Neb. – For the second week in a row, Jake Storey turned in a stellar performance out of the Northern Colorado bullpen.
The sophomore from Frisco, Texas, tossed 5 and 1/3 innings, his third outing of at least five innings this season, all occurred in the month of April.
Northern Colorado (7-29-1, 6-10-1) fell against Omaha () 10-2 at Tal Anderson Field Saturday.
Storey allowed one earned run on three hits and four walks, with three strikeouts.
Austin Bunn recorded a hit and run-batted-in for the Bears, while Carter Monda notched a hit and run scored. Carson Gross tallied a run.
Monda opened the scoring for UNC, when he led off the eighth with a single. He moved to third on a pair of outs, before crossing the plate on a wild pitch. Gross worked a lead-off walk in the ninth and scored on an RBI knock by Bunn.
The Mavericks built an early advantage with seven runs in the first frame. They added one in the fifth and added two in the eighth.
