Erin Caviness Named Big Sky Conference Pitcher of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah – Senior Erin Caviness was named the Big Sky Conference Pitcher of the Week after tossing the program's first perfect game in the NCAA Division I era.
The senior went the complete game against UC Santa Barbara, recording eight strikeouts while not surrendering a run, hit, or walk. The Bear followed up that performance by holding Michigan to just a pair of hits in Sunday's contest. The Wolverines were held to a mere .091 batting average.
Caviness totaled 17 strikeouts on the weekend.
The Bears are back in action this weekend for their home opener on Friday versus Manhattan and UNC will unveil its 2023 Big Sky Conference tournament championship banner. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m.
UNC hosts Iowa State on Saturday for a noon doubleheader and matches up with Manhattan again on Sunday for an 11 a.m. doubleheader.
