Northern Colorado Hurdlers Dominate at Air Force Last Chance Meet

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Northern Colorado track and field competed at the Air Force Last Chance Meet and several Bears won their event and earned podium finishes.
"This was a low-key meet with some high performances by our team. We are putting the final touches on the significant areas that will put us in an advantageous position to score well next week at the Big Sky Championships in Spokane," said UNC head coach Wayne Angel. "We had several breakthroughs in our Jumps and Hurdles areas that will certainly impact how we stack up next week. The women's hurdle crew swept the top three spots. Alexia and Jerome were dominant in the Hurdles both will be a force to be reckoned with next week."

Jerome Campbell: 60-meter hurdles, 7.79
Alexia Austin: 60-meter hurdles, 8.54 (No. 3 in Big Sky Conference)

Edgar Garcia: 200-meters, 21.87 (3rd place)
Raphael Egbuchilem: 400-meters, 48.75 (3rd place)
Brock Lewis: Long jump, 6.83 (3rd place)
Sherika Thomas: 60-meter hurdles, 8.99 (2nd place)
Annision Pound: 60-meter hurdles, 9.28 (2nd place)
Ciara Piffarerio: High jump, 1.55-meters (3rd place)
Jacklyn Trice: Long jump, 5.63-meters (3rd place)
Angel added, "Coach Houston is doing an outstanding job preparing our jumpers for the Big Sky. Kiana, Jacklyn, and Julienne are finally hitting their stride and looking ready to represent UNC at an elevated level."
