UNC Softball Announces 2025 Schedule

GREELEY, Colo. – The reigning back-to-back Big Sky Conference champions, the University of Northern Colorado softball program, has unveiled its 2025 spring schedule, featuring a competitive 48-game slate across multiple states and tournaments. The Bears, who capped off their 2024 campaign in the NCAA Regionals against Michigan, look to build on their recent success as they chase another postseason run.
"We are enthusiastic for our 2025 season," said head coach Dedeann Pendleton-Helm. "Kicking it off in Puerto Vallarta will look similar to a postseason regional. We are excited to challenge ourselves in our preseason on the road and at a few home events to prepare for conference play."
UNC opens the 2025 season at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in Mexico from Feb. 6-8, where they will face top-tier opponents, including Florida State, Oklahoma State, and LA Tech. The road-heavy start continues Feb. 14-16 at New Mexico State's tournament in Las Cruces, N.M., with matchups against TAMU-CC, Manhattan, UTEP, Creighton, Nebraska, and New Mexico State.
The Bears travel next to Raleigh, N.C., for the NC State-hosted tournament (Feb. 21-23) before returning home for the Colorado Classic DI Tournament in Greeley (Feb. 28-March 1), where they will meet Tennessee State and TAMU-CC.
UNC's midseason highlights include a series against Nebraska, Northern Iowa, and South Dakota State in Lincoln (March 6-8), and a West Coast Conference matchup against Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (March 15-16).
Conference play begin at home with a series versus Montana (March 28-29) and Portland State (April 18-19). The Bears will also hit the road for three conference series against Idaho State (April 4-5), Sac State (April 11-12), and Weber State (April 25-26).
The Bears will host the Big Sky Conference Tournament from May 6-9 in Greeley, Colo., aiming to defend their title and punch a return ticket to the NCAA Tournament. Postseason play continues with NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals set for mid-to-late May.
