Bears Wrapped Up Preseason at No. 18 Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. – University of Northern Colorado volleyball fell 4-1 at No. 18 Creighton Saturday.
The Bears claimed a 25-23 victory in the opening set at D.J. Sokol Arena before dropping the final four sets 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 and 15-10. To maximize playing time and to prepared for the upcoming season, both sides agreed to play five sets.
Both coaching staffs moved players in and out of rotations, trying different combinations to allow experience and see if certain rotations might deliver more desirable results. Over 30 players saw action during the contest. In addition, new athletes to their respected squads accrued valuable playing time due to the length of the contest.
UNC, the back-to-back Big Sky Conference champions, opens its title defense against No. 3 Stanford at the Bank of Colorado Arena Friday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. The Bears host No. 10 Kentucky at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 to close opening weekend.
