GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado volleyball officially opens the 2026 season on Saturday, Aug. 29, when the Bears host UC Davis inside Bank of Colorado Arena. First serve is set for 6 p.m. as UNC begins its pursuit of another successful season in front of the home crowd.

The season opener marks the first official competition for the Bears following a championship 2025 campaign. UNC will look to carry the momentum from last season into 2026 and start the new campaign with a strong performance on its home court against a Mountain West opponent.

BEARS READY TO BUILD ON CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON: Northern Colorado enters the 2026 season coming off a championship campaign that saw the Bears capture the program's eighth conference championship. UNC swept Idaho State in the Big Sky Championship match to earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. With last year's success behind them, the Bears will look to carry that momentum into the new season.

BEARS TABBED NO. 1 IN PRESEASON POLL: The Bears enter the 2026 season selected as No. 1 in the Big Sky Conference preseason coaches' poll. UNC also had two players selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team, with Alayna Tessena and Nerea Alvarez Jorge earning preseason honors. The pair will look to help lead the Bears as they begin the 2026 season.
