COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Air Force defeated Northern Colorado 2-1 in a close midweek non-conference tilt.
Carson Gross batted 2-for-3 and was responsible for the Bears' lone run of the game, an RBI double to left center field to score Zain Zinicola.
Caden Wagner finished 2-for-4 and Zinicola went 2-for-3.
Austin Bunn and Jackson Romero each added a hit.
The Bears threw six pitchers and were effective as a unit. As a team, UNC scattered five hits, allowed two runs and four walks while striking out four batters.
Jake Storey started and was credited with the no decision. Story threw three innings and allowed no hits, no runs, and two walks while fanning three batters.
The Bears return to the diamond this weekend for a three-game series at home versus North Dakota State. Friday's opening pitch is set for 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday are noon starts.
