Idaho State Defeats UNC in Big Sky Tournament; Bears Advance in Double-Elimination Play

OGDEN, Utah – Idaho State defeated Northern Colorado 8-2 Thursday evening in the semifinals of the 2023 Big Sky Softball Championships.
The Bears advance to face the winner of the Weber State/Portland State game tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. The winner of that game advances to the championship series versus Idaho State.
Alyssa Wenzel batted 1-for-3, which was a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning to put the Bears on the scoreboard.
Sabrina Javorsky added an RBI single in the bottom of the second inning.
Erin Caviness absorbed the setback. The Thornton, Colorado native tossed five innings and allowed nine hits, seven runs, and one walk and struck out one batter.
