CHENEY, Wash. – The Northern Colorado men's basketball team lost an 89-77 decision to Eastern Washington on the road Saturday afternoon. The game marked the final road contest of the regular season for the Bears.
Eastern Washington came out hot in the first half and claimed a 51-33 lead over the Bears behind a 51% shooting effort.
UNC rebounded in the second half and out-scored the Eagles 44-38, shooting 48.28% from the field.
ACCORDING TO COACH SMILEY
"We dug too big of a hole early on. We had good looks early, but didn't make enough. I'm disappointed in our rebounding effort tonight too. Going into the game, we were on of the best rebounding teams in the Big Sky, so to get out-rebounded 44-27 is really disappointing. We need to have a great week of practice to bounce back with two huge home games to finish the season strong before heading to Boise."
