WILL GORDON | FRESHMAN | GUARD | AZ COMPASS PREP | CLEARWATER, FLA.
Will Gordon, a 6-4 guard born in Clearwater, Florida, Joins the Bears following a decorated high school career at AZ Compass Prep. A versatile and physical backcourt presence, he averaged 18.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game while shooting 45 percent from the field during his senior season.
Known for his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, Gordon played a key role in leading AZ Compass Grind to back-to-back Canyon Athletic Association State Championships. His production and consistency made him a standout in one of the top prep programs in the country.
Prior to AZ Compass Prep, he also captured a state championship during his sophomore season at San Tan Charter in Gilbert, Arizona, further showcasing his winning pedigree and experience in high-level competition.
"We're thrilled to announce the addition of Will Gordon to our roster for this upcoming 2026 school year! Will fits the exact mold of what we were searching for in this final roster spot. We were hoping to get a bigger guard that can play multiple spots on both ends of the floor, and Will fits that exactly. A big guard that can shoot, is athletic, and loves to defend, Will is going to bring much-needed depth to our roster" said Head Coach, Steve Smiley. "Additionally, we always focus on recruiting from winning programs, and AZ Compass Prep is one of the most successful scholastic schools in the country, and we know Will has been in a winning environment in high school. With Will's commitment, we believe our roster is complete and now we can focus on preparing for a great summer of workouts".
"William Gordon is a 6'4 combo guard who can shoot the ball and jump out of the gym. He's currently coming off his third straight state championship while attending the prestigious AZ Compass Prep. Off the floor Will is a stud - his ability to lead in the classroom and household is uncanny. William is committed to winning and making the most out of every opportunity that is set before him. He's a firm believer in proper preparation preventing poor performance." Stated Coach Peachje Howard from AZ Compass Grind.
