Three Bears Named to Academic All-District Team

GREELEY, Colo. – Three members of the Northern Colorado women's soccer team earned Academic All-District honors from College Sports Communicators it was announced by the organization with the release of its annual award.
Sydney Engelkins, Taryn Rea and Lily Thimsen each make their first appearance on a CSC Academic All-District Team.
"It is great to see these players honored for their work on the field and in the classroom," head coach Tim Barrera said. "It is a great representation of our entire team. The Bears received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award again and have had an average GPA above 3.6 for the last six semesters."
The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
