RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Jesse Hayward broke the University of Northern Colorado 8000-meter cross-country school record at the UCR Invitational on the UCR Ag Ops Course Saturday.

"Coach Angel and I are incredibly proud of Jesse," associate head track & field coach Stormie Sickler said. "The school record is one of the goals he eyed all season."
The Bears finished 17th out of 26 teams, with four other members of the team posting personal bests.
"Isaac Rascon, Colton Magnuson, Noah Osmond and Hunter Kenney all ran personal bests today," Sickler said. "It is great to see the hard work and dedication they have shown over the course of the season produce results on meet day."

Julia Thigpen, Shantell Hafner, Summer Olson and Claire Nowels each ran a personal best.
"I am extremely proud of the entire team today," Sickler said. "We came out to race and highlight our work, which is exactly what we did. We look forward to championship races."
