SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Northern Colorado closed its 2025 cross country season on Friday at the NCAA Mountain Regional, wrapping up a developmental fall against one of the nation's deepest postseason fields.
The men's race featured four top-10 teams: No. 3 New Mexico, No. 6 Colorado, No. 8 Northern Arizona, and No. 10 BYU, while the women's field included No. 1 BYU, No. 8 New Mexico, No. 17 Colorado, and No. 21 Northern Arizona. The rolling Salt Lake City course produced national-championship pace early, stringing out both races before the halfway mark.
For the Bears, Regina Mpigachai paced UNC, finishing 58th in 22:09.5 for 6K. Sabina Stroia closed out the Bears' day with a 107th-place finish in 23:42.8, giving UNC two competitors in the regional field.
On the men's side, Logan Gullett placed 80th with a time of 33:06.1 in the 10K. His performance marked a strong finish to his fall campaign while matching up against some of the country's premier distance programs.
With the regional meet complete and no NCAA Championship qualifiers this year, the Bears officially conclude their 2025 cross country season and shift their focus to winter training and the upcoming indoor track and field slate.
