Softball announces 2023 schedule

GREELEY, Colo. – The first season under head coach Dedeann Pendleton-Helm has been set and the Northern Colorado softball team will open the 2023 season in exactly one month on Feb. 10 at the La Jolla Invitational in San Diego, Calif.

The 2023 schedule features three home weekends for the Bears: March 10-11 vs UMKC, April 14-15 vs Montana and April 28-29 vs Portland State.

UNC is set to play in three tournaments in February, taking on Utah, UC San Diego and Stonehill at the La Jolla Invitational, Feb. 10-12; Akron, Tarleton, and Texas A&M Commerce at the Tarleton Texan Invitational in Stephenville, Texas, Feb. 17-19; and Saint Mary's College, San Jose State, UC Santa Barbara and Santa Clara at the Silicon Valley Classic in San Jose, Calif., Feb. 24-27.

The Bears open March with a pair of doubleheaders against UTEP and New Mexico State in Las Cruces, N.M., March 4-5.

Northern Colorado's home-opener is set for March 10 against UMKC beginning at 5 p.m. The Bears and Roos finish the weekend with a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m. on March 11.

UNC the finishes its nonconference schedule taking on South Dakota State, Wichita State, and Minnesota in Wichita, Kan., March 17-18.

The Bears begin Big Sky competition on March 31-April 1 with a series at Sacramento State, before heading to Idaho State on April 7-8.

Montana comes to Greeley on April 14-15 for the Bears Big Sky home opener.
