GREELEY WATCH PARTIES: The GOAT Sports Bar is the official home away from home for UNC football games. Fans not making the trip to watch the Bears in person can watch the game with fellow UNC fans and alumni at The G.O.A.T., Greeley's premier sports bar featuring a 360-degree bar top, and a patio. In addition to watching sports on 36 HDTVs, fans can win prizes from UNC Athletics, The G.O.A.T, and Modelo.
ABOUT IDAHO: Under the direction of first-year head coach Jason Eck, Idaho has won back-to-back games following two close losses to FBS programs to open the season. With a combined margin of only 20 points, the Vandals opened the season with a 24-17 loss at Washington State and a 35-22 loss at Indiana. Meanwhile, the two wins have been by an average of 22.5 points.
THE SERIES: Saturday's game will mark just the second meeting between the two teams. Northern Colorado defeated the Vandals, 27-24, in Greeley on Sept. 28, 2019 in the lone previous matchup.
LAST WEEK: Tied 14-14 entering the fourth quarter, the Bears were sparked by an 82-yard punt return and a 47-yard fumble return for TDs to defeat Idaho State, 35-14, on Sept. 24. The win was the school's first on homecoming since a 27-19 victory against Sacramento State in 2016.
UPCOMING: After Northern Colorado makes its maiden voyage to Moscow, Idaho, the Bears will stay on the road to face No. 5 Sacramento State on Oct. 8. UNC returns home on October 15 to host No. 4-ranked Montana State.
HOME TICKETS: Tickets for all UNC football games are available via the UNC Athletics app, online at UNCBears.com/tickets or by calling (970) 351-4849. Tickets can also be purchased in person by visiting the Ticket Office in Campus Commons from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
AROUND THE BIG SKY: Eleven of the 12 Big Sky teams are in action this week with Weber State taking a bye. Eastern Washington will step out of conference play to face Florida in the program's first ever contest against an SEC opponent. The game was moved to a Sunday kickoff due to Hurricane Ian. The conference currently has five teams ranked in the FCS polls and two more receiving votes. Montana, Montana State, Sacramento State, and Weber State are all ranked in the top 10.
DOTSON EARNS BIG SKY HONOR: Thanks to an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown, Elijah Dotson was picked as the Big Sky Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 26. The return was the first for a UNC player since 2015 and was one-yard shy of the school's NCAA DI record.
NFFCC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Following an afternoon in which he racked up more than 200 all-purpose yards, Northern Colorado's Elijah Dotson was recognized as the National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter (NFFCC) Player of the Week. Dotson rushed for 102 yards on 24 carries and provided the game's biggest jolt with an 82-yard punt return for a score to break a 14-14 stalemate with 14:23 remaining in the fourth quarter. The NFFCC award highlights the top performer from Colorado's 10 college football programs across all divisions.
