GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado Athletics will give away free cowbells to the first 1,000 fans at the Bears' football season opener against Weber State at Nottingham Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

The giveaway is designed to help create a strong home-field atmosphere as the Bears open the season under the lights. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as cowbells will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Cowbell Rules

In accordance with Big Sky Conference game-day rules, cowbells will be permitted only during designated times and must be silenced during live play. For the season opener, the following rules will apply:

Cowbells may be rung during pregame, timeouts, halftime and after Northern Colorado scores.

Cowbells may not be rung during live play.

When the opposing team's center is over the football, fans must stop ringing their cowbells.

Cowbells may not be thrown, struck against stadium fixtures or used in any unsafe or disruptive manner.

Northern Colorado Athletics and event staff reserve the right to enforce all game-day policies regarding cowbell use.

Tickets can be purchased through the UNC ticket office online at UNCBears.com/Tickets, by calling 970-351-4849, or in person at the UNC ticket office during normal business hours.
