Northern Colorado pushed Wyoming late into the fourth quarter

LARAMIE, Wyo. – Northern Colorado football held tough with Wyoming until midway through the fourth quarter as the Cowboys pulled away for a 33-10 win.

UNC's best offensive drive of the game came at the beginning of the second half after UNC's defense forced a UW punt. The Bears went on a 12-play drive to get on the board. The drive was sparked by Kurt Gallup's run on a fake punt near midfield to pick up nine yards and the first down. Freshman Hunter Green connected on a 32-yard field goal to make it a 9-3 game.

Northern Colorado entered the fourth quarter with a golden opportunity following a missed handled punt attempt by the Cowboys. UNC paid homage to quarterback coach and Wyoming alum JJ Raterink with a reverse pass to the quarterback for a touchdown.

Trevis Graham found a wide-open Jacob Sirmon for the six-yard touchdown, like the play Raterink made to help Wyoming win the Las Vegas Bowl in 2004.

UNC was unable to take advantage of its possession trail by just a score and Wyoming did off a short field on a failed fourth down attempt and interception to put the game away.

Game Notes
- Elijah Anderson-Taylor led the Bears with 12 tackles on the day for a career-high. He also had a fumble and one QB hurry.
- Cameron Murray recorded seven tackles and a pass break-up in his return to Laramie.
- Ty Arrington led the Bears in receiving with 32 yards on a pair of receptions.
- Northern Colorado's defense played well holding Wyoming to just 293 yards in the game.
