Football Heads to Texas, Faces Lamar

UNC football looks for its first win of the year on Saturday
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado heads deep into Texas this weekend for its final non-conference game of the season. The Bears take on the Cardinals of Lamar with a 5 pm MT kick off. The contest will air on ESPN+ and over the airwaves of 1310 KFKA & 103.1 FM.
The Game
Northern Colorado is looking for a little payback after falling to Lamar at home last year in overtime. It is the second-ever meeting between the programs.
About the Cardinals
• Lamar hosts the Bears for the home-opener. Last year the Cardinals went 1-4 at home.
• LU is 0-2 on the year having dropped games to Abilene Christian and SMU.
• The Cardinals are looking to get their offense going averaging just 15.0 points and 262.0 yards per game.
• Opponents have been able to run so far against Lamar averaging 197.0 yards per game.
• Quarterback Michael Chandler has taken advantage of big plays for both his touchdowns this season with throws of 75 and 59 yards.
• The Cardinals are returning to the Southland Conference after spending one year in the WAC.
