Volleyball Opens 2022 Campaign Hosting UCSB and North Carolina

UNC volleyball hosts a pair home matches to open the season
GREELEY, Colo. – The 2022 season is finally here for Northern Colorado volleyball as they host UC Santa Barbara and North Carolina on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Both games have a first serve set for 6 pm.
Friday's season-opener against UC Santa Barbara is presented by Homewood Suites and will air on ESPN+. Saturday's match will air on both ESPN+ and Evoca for fans in Colorado.
Both matches are the first time Northern Colorado has faced either team.
Quick Sets
- Northern Colorado returns a veteran team with 11 returners including a pair of All-Big Sky selections in Rachel Hickman and Kailey Jo Ince alongside 2021 Big Sky Tournament MVP Makenzie Harris.
- Expectations are high once again for UNC as they were voted the preseason favorite to win the Big Sky by the conference's coaches.
- The Bears are coming off a great 2021 season in which they went 24-7 earning a share of the Big Sky Regular Season title and winning the Big Sky Tournament championship. UNC qualified for its sixth NCAA Division I tournament falling to Washington State in the first round.
- Northern Colorado warmed up for the regular season with a 3-1 exhibition win over Denver last week.

UNC heads north to face the rival Rams of Colorado State on Tuesday. First serve is set for 7 pm inside Moby Arena. Last year the Bears defeated CSU for the first time since 1982.
