GREELEY, Colo.- Northern Colorado volleyball is excited to announce a new signee to the program. Head Coach Lyndsey Oates and the coaching staff welcome a talented Setter to the team.
MEET THE SIGNEE
Emily Bruss | Setter | Suamico, WI. | North Dakota State University
Emily Bruss is the daughter of Julie and Todd Bruss. Her mother, a University of Wisconsin–Green Bay alum, competed in cross country skiing, while her father attended the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where he participated in track and field.
Bruss brings great experience from her time at North Dakota State, where she competed in 49 sets for the Bison and recorded multiple matches with 15 or more assists. She built on a strong high school career, earning First Team All-Conference honors as both a sophomore and junior, and being named Co-Player of the Year during her junior season.
She chose UNC because of its strong family culture. After speaking with Head Coach Lyndsey Oates, she felt confident that it was the right fit. With its winning tradition and high academic standards, she knew UNC was the perfect place for her.
Outside of volleyball, Emily enjoys reading, hiking, and beach volleyball.
"Emily is a great athlete that we recruited in high school. She brings great skill and good size to that position. We are excited for her to join the Bear family in January. "said Head Coach, Lyndsey Oates.
