GREELEY, Colo. – While Northern Colorado didn't come away with the victory, falling 11-1 to Oral Roberts, the Bears still celebrated the outstanding careers of its 10 seniors (Aiden Leahy, Josh Glenn, Jacob Salim, Lucas Allen, Logan Chase, Quentin Parr, Ashton Mansur, Sam Colehower, Lincoln Turner and Jayden Metz) in their final performance at Jackson Field.
The Golden Eagles jumped on the scoreboard early on Sunday. Two runs in the first, two in the third, three in the fourth and a run in the fifth had ORU playing from in front
Senior Lincoln Turner made sure it would be a game to remember in his last appearance at Jackson Field. Having bagged his first-career home run a week ago, Turner launched his second, a moonshot to centerfield to put UNC on the board.
Fellow senior Ashton Mansur picked up the reins on the hill in the fourth frame. The Littleton, Colorado native pitched 2.1 solid innings, striking out one.
Jacob Salim and Logan Chase each had a turn on the bump to round out their careers at Jackson. They combined to give up just one hit.
In the end, Oral Roberts' 11-1 lead was too much for Northern Colorado to overcome, ending the affair in seven innings.
