BOULDER, Colo. – A 25-year old record was broken and Northern Colorado now holds the top spot in two more events in the Big Sky after their weekend at the Colorado Invite.
Freshman Jerome Campbell broke the program's 25-year record in the 110h crossing the line in 13.84 seconds. The previous record was 14.03 run by Brian Kula in 1997. Two other Bears had strong 400m runs in Ruby Ann Gregory and Craiesha Johnson. Gregory ran a 58.29 and now sits 10th in the Big Sky, while Johnson finished in 58.29 to rank 18th in the conference.
Graduate Tyler Thimsen won the men's triple just with a leap of 14.78m. It places him eighth in the Big Sky and 45th in the west region. Meanwhile freshman, Regina Mpigachai won the women's 800 with a time of 2:13.21.
One other Bear cracked the top 15 of the Big Sky rankings in Chloe Rylance. She ran an 11:36.28 in the 3000 steeplechase to put herself 14th in the conference.
