Track and Field Travels to Oregon Premiere Invitational

GREELEY, Colo.- Northern Colorado Track and Field will hit the road to compete in the Oregon Premiere Invitational hosted by the University of Oregon on Saturday.

The team kicked off their outdoor season two weekends ago as they split between meets at Stanford and Colorado. They tabbed 12 top-three finishes between the two different meets and four top 20 nationally ranked performances as well.

These top 20 national rankings were achieved by Welre Olivier (12th) and Qwazon Al-Khaliq (19th) in the triple jump at the Cardinal Classic, and Melodie Leroudier (15th) in the 5k and Regina Mpigachai (19th) in the 800 at the Cardinal Classic as well.

Another notable podium finish also came from the women's 4x400m relay team of Sabrina Richman, Anya Turner, Julia Brown, and Shantell Hafner, as they brought home first place overall.

The Bears now aim to keep the wins coming as they travel to Eugene, Oregon to compete in the single day meet. Following this meet, they will once again return to Boulder for the Colorado Invitational on April 8-9.
