UNC men's basketball defeated NAU 82-60 Monday night
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado men's basketball completed the sweep of Northern Arizona Monday night with an all-out team effort 82-60. The Bears were clicking on offense making 14 threes and on defense holding NAU to 33.3% shooting.
UNC came out strong jumping out to a 16-point lead by the 13:39 mark. The Big Sky leaders in made threes per game, Northern Colorado made four straight to grow their lead to that much.
Bodie Hume made a pair of those threes while Matt Johnson II and Daylen Kountz added one each. UNC's 18-2 run had them up 23-7 less than seven minutes into the game.
Kountz once again led the team in scoring with 22 points, while Hume added in 18 and missed out on a double-double by one rebound.
Three more makes from behind the arc helped push that lead to 19, but NAU's Jalen Cone put his team on his back. He scored 12 of NAU's 19 points during a 19-2 run.
With their lead cut to two with 4:13 left in the half, Northern Colorado closed the first 20 minutes on a 6-0 run.
The Bears started the second half the same way they started the game, hot. Making four of their first five shots they grew their lead back to 14.
Northern Colorado closed the door on the Lumberjacks with a 13-3 run, capped off by a pair of threes from Dru Kuxhausen.

A week after struggling at times on the defensive end, Northern Colorado held NAU to just 33.3% shooting for the game. The defense really clamped down in the second half with Northern Arizona going 9-for-31 (29.0%) from the field

- Daylen Kountz has now scored 20-plus points in six straight games with his 22-point performance tonight. He leads the Big Sky averaging 20.8 points per game.
- Bodie Hume stuffed the stat sheet with 18 points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
- Hume now sits in second place for career made threes after making four on Monday. He has 243 for his career passing Tate Unruh (2009-14). Hume is 14 behind Sean Tabi (2004-08) for the record.
- Matt Johnson II was the hero on Saturday with the game-winning three. Monday night he was finding his open teammates matching his career-high with eight assists.
- Dru Kuxhausen reach double-digits scoring for the seventh time with 12. He was 4-for-7 behind the line making it his 12th game with three or more made threes.

Montana defended its home court in a key match-up as teams battle for position atop the Big Sky standings 78-67 over Southern Utah. Meanwhile, Montana State beat Idaho State on the road 72-54.

Northern Colorado looks to avenge one of its Big Sky losses when they travel to Sacramento State on Thursday for an 8 pm MT tip.
