Thirteen Swim and Dive Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-WAC Honors

UNC swimming and diving placed 13 student-athletes on the Academic All-WAC team

DENVER – Northern Colorado swimming and diving continued its academic excellence during the 2019-20 season with 13 student-athletes earning Academic All-WAC honors announced by the conference on Thursday.

To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests.

Of the 13 Bears on the list, 12 earned the honor for their second or third time. Celeste Llona earned the honor for the first time. Emily Hamel, Leilani Herrera, Hallie Peterson, Hayley Stauber and MichaelAnn Wilson each made the list for the third time in their career.

The Northern Colorado swimming and diving program currently has a streak of 16 straight semesters as a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association Scholar All-America team.
