Softball Returns to New Mexico for Five Games this Weekend

Northern Colorado will play games agaisnt New Mexico, South Dakota and La Salle
Albuquerque, N.M.- Northern Colorado heads back to Albuquerque for the Lobo Classic held by New Mexico. UNC will have a series consisting of five games total. Two games against South Dakota, two games against La Salle and one game against New Mexico.

About the Bears
The Bears enter the weekend 3-12 after going 1-4 at the Cardinal Classic. They won the first game of the tournament against Saint Johns, 8-7.

Lauren Strathearn had the hot bat over weekend, batting .538, knocking in three runs and scoring one. She added a stolen base as well. Strathearn went 2-for-2 with two RBIs in the team's win over the Red Storm. Strathearn leads UNC with a .378 average.

Alyssa Wenzel was also productive at the plate, batting .333 and recording four RBIs, with two runs scored and a pair of doubles.

As a team, UNC batted .295 over the weekend. The Bears have been very disciplined at the plate, striking out 32 times and walking 21 in 298 total at bats.

About New Mexico
Host New Mexico enters the weekend 6-8

Cameryn O'Grady is currently leading the team with a .368 batting average, along with 11 runs and 14 hits.

About South Dakota
South Dakota comes into the weekend 8-8.

Jordyn Pender is currently leading the team with a batting average of .432 along with 16 RBI's.

About La Salle
La Salle started their season off last weekend at the Wings Etc Classic and are 0-4 after the classic.

Freshman Mia Recenello leads the team with a .333 batting average.
