Track and Field Shows Well at Air Force Collegiate

UNC track and field had six top five finishes at the Air Force Collegiate
USAFA – Northern Colorado track and field put in some final preparation for the Big Sky Championships this weekend competing at the Air Force Collegiate Open. Sending a smaller team down to the open, UNC ended up with three top 20 Big Sky performances and six top five finishes at the meet.
Greg Laday turned in the best performance for the Bears in the 60m dash. He took first place in the meet and moved up to ninth on the Big Sky performance list with his time of 6.87.
UNC's other two top 20 performances came in the men's pole vault. Alius Evans vaulted for just his third time this season and set a PR clearing the bar at the height of 4.65m (15'3"). The mark places Evans 12th in the Big Sky going into this week's championships.
Teammate Liam Johnson turned in the 17th best vault of the season in the Big Sky by clearing the height of 4.50m (14'9").
Jumper Maccee Reed turned in a pair of the Bears top five finishes at the meet in both the long and triple jump. Reed finished third in the triple jump with a mark of 13.35 (43'9.75"). In the long jump, he had a leap of 6.45m (21'2"). Thierry N'Seboko finished third in the long jump with a mark of 6.69m (21"11.5").
On the women's side, Anya Turner and Mariela Hollines had a pair of top five performances. Turner finished third in the high jump with a jump of 1.50m (4'11"). Hollines took fourth place in the triple jump with her mark of 10.60m (34'9.5").
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado heads to the Big Sky Indoor Championships this weekend in Pocatello, Idaho. The multis take place on February 27 with the rest of the events over February 28 and 29.
