UNC's freshmen class has shown their importance early in the 2020-21 season. Both Hannah Simental and Olivia Wikstrom have tallied double-figure scoring totals.
Alisha Davis continues to be a force down low for the Bears. The sophomore forward is averaging 16.8 points and 9.3 boards. Davis ranks first in the conference in blocked shots (7) and steals (12), not to mention 39th and 24th nationally in those categories, respectively.
The Bears and Bengals have been a close rivalry as of recent years. Six of the last nine matchups have been decided by 10 points or less.
Alecia Whyte has started to find her groove this season. The sophomore has scored in double figures each of the last two games.
Scouting the Bengals
Idaho State finished tied for first with its counterparts at the University of Idaho in the preseason coaches poll. The Bengals were also ranked second in the preseason media poll. Early on in 2020, we can see why.
ISU enters Monday with a 2-1 record with wins against Utah State and Power 5 Kansas State. Head coach Seton Sobolewski returns 11 players from last season's roster, including preseason All-Big Sky Team member Dora Goles and 2019-20 Second Team All-Big Sky member Callie Bourne.
History against Idaho State
All-time, UNC is 12-21 against Idaho State with a 6-9 mark in Pocatello. Before its two losses last season, the Bears did have a five-game win streak going versus the Bengals.
Against the Conference
Northern Colorado is 153-116 in games played against the Big Sky Conference. UNC joined the conference in 2006 after moving up from Division II.

After its two matchups against Idaho State, Northern Colorado heads home to face our rivals to the north in Wyoming on Sunday, December 20.
