Divich moves up record book at Air Force meet

UNC track & field finished its preparation for the Big Sky Championships over the weekend
USAFA – In preparation for the Big Sky Championships in Missoula. Montana this week, Northern Colorado track & field sent a few athletes to the Air Force Last Chance Invite over the weekend. Three PRs were set over the weekend, two in field events and one on the track.
Dakota Divich competed in both the triple and long jump, setting a new PR in the triple jump. Her leap of 11.93 meters not only set a new personal record for her but moved her into third place in the program's record book too. She won the triple jump, while finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.45 meters.
Like Divich, Mariela Hollines also set her PR in the triple jump. She finished with a jump of 10.55 meters to take fourth place in the event. She also competed in the long jump where she ended up sixth after her jump of 4.78 meters.
The PR set on the track came from Baily Sexton. He competed in both the 100 and 200 meter dash, setting his PR in the 200. He crossed the finish line with a time of 22.59 to finish in fifth place. In the 100 dash, Sexton ran an 11.16.
Maccee Reed picked up a pair top 3 finishes in the men's long and triple jump. He ended up second in the long jump at 6.66 meters and third in the triple at 13.27 meters.
Brooke Walker ended up in third place for the women's pole vault by clearing the bar at 3.52 meters.
What's Ahead
It's off to the Big Sky Championship this week. UNC and the rest of the conference will descend upon Missoula, Montana and the University of Montana to compete for the title. It all begins on Wednesday and Thursday with the decathlon and heptathlon. Prelims for the track events start on Friday with the finals on Saturday.
