@BearsSoftball Looks to Keep Home Field Advantage Going Against Roadrunners

Northern Colorado will host Metro State for one game tomorrow evening
The home stand continues for Northern Colorado softball as they host Metro State for one game on Tuesday evening.
UNC was happy to be home last weekend, sweeping a three-game series against Idaho State. The Bears jumped up into a third-place tie with the Bengals after the sweep.
Hailee Swanson had breakout weekend at the plate, batting two-four-five with five RBIs and four runs scored. Swanson provided the spark for the sweep in the first game of the series, with a three-run, go-ahead home run to help the Bears win 4-3. In the three games, Swanson recorded a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Taylor Puga also had a breakout weekend in the circle, recording her first career win in the 4-3 win against the Bengals. Puga appeared in all three games and pitched 8.1 innings with a 2.16 ERA, while recording three strikeouts.
UNC's lineup found their groove, out-scoring Idaho State 17 to six. The Bears also utilized their speed, swiping eight bags on eight attempts. Cheyenne Talmadge, Mady Young and Taylor Renaud all recorded two stolen bases in the series.
Natalie Joyner went three-for-nine with three RBIs, while recording two doubles and a triple, along with scoring one run. Over the past two weeks, Joyner has hit a blistering .471 with six extra base hits and six RBIs.
Emma Brockmann also found her power against Idaho St., hitting her second home run of the season and adding one double.
Northern Colorado will look to take advantage of home field with a one-game matchup against Metro State.
Scouting the Roadrunners
Metro State's record sits at 19-21 and 14-10 in RMAC games heading into Tuesday's game. This past weekend, the Roadrunners played series against Black Hills State and Dixie State. Both were two-game series, with Metro State splitting both. Darby McGhee has been a power bat for the Roadrunners, hitting a team-leading four home runs and 17 doubles on the season, with a .385 average. McGhee has also been a workhorse pitcher, recording a 2.50 ERA in 120.1 innings pitched. For the season, McGhee has a 8-9 record with 12 complete games and two shutouts.
UNC had its game against Metro State cancelled last season and has not played the Roradrunners since the 2016 season. The Bears split the 2016 two-game, home series against Metro State.

Northern Colorado softball will host Metro State on Tuesday, April 9th with first pitch scheduled for 5 pm MST at Gloria Rodriguez Field.
