Bears bats go quiet in South Texas

EDINBURG, Texas – It was going to be a tough task for UNC after playing late into the night on Friday they turned around for a pair on Saturday against University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Saturday was turned into a doubleheader to try and avoid potential severe weather on Sunday. UTRGV took full advantage of the two games in one day with their hot bats sweeping the series 11-1 and 10-0.
GAME 1
The Bears trailed just 2-0 headed to the sixth inning before UTRGV hung seven on the board to take a commanding lead.
Jack Pauley singled home Billy Moreland to get UNC in the scorebook with a two out RBI.
UTRGV followed with two more in the eighth to end the game via runs rule.
GAME 2
UTRGV scored in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to jump out 10-0 and the game came to an end early in the seventh due to the 10-run rule.
BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE
Moreland, Pauley and Adrian Vela all had two hits.
Pauley had the Bears lone RBI on the day.

UNC will return home on Tuesday for a single game against Air Force before they take on Utah Valley over the weekend.
