Davis scores a game-high 25, but UNC suffers first road conference loss

OGDEN, Utah – In what was expected to be a high-scoring matchup of the top two scoring teams in the Big Sky, who came in tied for first place, UNC scored 20 points in the first 10 minutes and took a 31-29 lead to the half against Weber State. The Wildcats started the final 20 minutes on a 12-3 run, which propelled them to a 78-64 win.

Jordan Davis and Jerrick Harding came in leading the conference in points per game, but it was the Wildcats role players who sparked the Weber State run. Berkkott Chapman started the run with a three-pointer that gave the 'Cats 32-31 lead. Cody John knocked down a pair of triples on back-to-back possessions before Chapman capped the 12-2 run with the fourth three-point make of the first 3:30 of the half.

UNC was able to cut the lead to single digits on multiple occasions when Davis made a layup in transition and Bodie Hume knocked down a three from the wing with just over three minutes left in the game.

BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE

- Davis won the individual scoring battle against Harding, he scored a game-high 25 points.

- Hume and Jalen Sanders chipped in with 14 and 10 points each.

- Kur Jockuch made his second start of the season and led UNC with eight rebounds.

- The Bears made five three-pointers against Weber State who came in second in the conference in three-point percentage defense.
