Bio
2017-18: Sanders had one of the most impactful freshman seasons in UNC history. He nearly doubled the single-season record for blocks sending back an incredible 52 shots. He is already third on the all-time blocks list and is just 18 behind the DI leader, Connor Osborne. He grabbed 220 rebounds, which is third best single-season effort in Bears DI history. The only two better seasons came from teammates Jonah Radebaugh and Tanner Morgan. He started 38-of-38 games his first year on campus and averaged nearly 29 MPG and scored nearly 10PPG.
High School: Colorado 4A Player of the Year... Sanders comes to UNC from Valor Christian High School where he led the Eagles to their first ever State Championship title... The 6'5" Denver native is coming off an incredible senior season in which he paced VCHS in scoring, averaging 22.5 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.0 blocks... Sanders led the Eagles to 24-4 mark, cruising to a conference title and a 68-55 win over Lewis Palmer in the State finals in which he scored 18 points, had eight rebounds and six assists... Capping off the monumental 2016-17 season for Sanders was being named to the prestigious All-Colorado team, solidifying him as one of the Top 5 players in the entire Centennial State... Along with being a four-time letterman, Sanders was tabbed as a three-time All-Conference award winner and two-time First Team All-State honoree throughout his preps career.
