Northern Colorado women's golf finished third as a team with three top 15 individual finishes at the Sac State Invite
SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Northern Colorado women's golf finished strong at the Sacramento State Invite, with three top 15 individual finishes and third overall, as a team. The Bears shot 893 as a team to finish behind Sacramento State (864) and San Francisco (866).
Marisa Hisaki, Morgan Sahm, and Beah Cruz finished in the top 15 individually. Hisaki recorded the best finish for UNC, with a 223 (+17) to end up tied for eighth. Hisaki had a strong first two rounds, before struggling in the final round shooting an 81.
Sahm and Cruz tied for 15th, each shooting a 225. Sahm, shot a 77 over the final 18, while Cruz was one of three Bears to shoot a team-best 74 in the final round. She shot a three-under 33 on the front nine, by birdieing the first, second and sixth hole. On the back nine, Cruz started to slow down, a double bogey on the 16th hole kept her from finishing the round at par or below-par.
Joining Cruz with shooting a 74, where teammates Christina Ferreira and Nicole Polivchak. They finished, tied for 22nd and 27th, respectively. Northern Colorado finished 15 strokes ahead of Nevada and Towson who tied for fourth in the team standings.
UNC's next time on the links comes April 9 and 10 at the Montana State Bobcat Invitational in Goodyear, Arizona.
