Recap: @UNC_Bears_Golf Places Fifth at Bobcat Invite

Nicole Polivchak helps lead UNC women's golf to a fifth place finish at the Bobcat Spring Invite
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Northern Colorado women's golf finished the day exactly where it started in the final round of the Bobcat Spring Invitational at Golf Club Estrella Tuesday afternoon, in fifth place. The Bears earned the top five finish by shooting a 298 to match their second round and finish with a 906 overall. Nicole Polivchak finished well ending up tied for seventh, while Marisa Hisaki was tied for 15th.
UNC entered the day eight strokes behind Utah Valley for fourth place and ended in the same spot, eight shots back when the tournament ended. Grand Canyon won the tournament with an 871 as a team and three top 10 finishes.
Freshman Nicole Polivchak completed her best college tournament of her young career with a 221 to be tied for seventh on the individual scoreboard. Polivchak shot a 74 in the final round that included a pair of birdies during it. She was not the only Bear to earn a top 15 finish, as Marisa Hisaki finished tied for 15th with a 224 for the tournament. Hisaki shot the low round of the day for the Bears with a 73.
Hanna Atkins finished strong competing as an individual with a 227. The final score placed her tied for 19th as she improved each round of the tournament, finishing on a 74.
Northern Colorado finished ahead of six of the seven other Big Sky school competing in the Bobcat Spring Invitational. The lone team to finish ahead of the Bears was Portland State for second place with an 878. Grand Canyon won the invite with an 871.
The Bears now have a week and a half to improve its upon performance at the Bobcat Invitational for the Big Sky Championships April 20-22. The conference championship will once again be held at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
