LAS VEGAS, Nev. – With just over 11 minutes left in the game, Dimencio Vaughn hit a three-pointer that put Rider up by 11 and it looked like the Broncs were going to ride down the strip after an easy win. UNC had other ideas. Playing in his hometown, Jordan Davis made a layup in transition that gave the Bears a 58-57 lead. Thanks to another Davis bucket the game was tied at 67-67 when Rider called a timeout with 1:57 left. Whatever Kevin Baggett told his players during that 20 seconds did the trick. Rider ended the game on a 7-0 run to come away with a hard-fought, 76-67 win.
The Broncs didn't do anything groundbreaking over the final 100 seconds, they scored five of their final seven points from the free throw line and added a simple layup.
Trent Harris brought UNC even with a three-ball after Rider had taken a brief lead following the Davis jumper that put the Bears in front for the first time in the second half. The teams traded buckets before Davis knotted things up at 67-67.
It's often said basketball is a game of runs, Saturday's game was just the latest example of that.
- Rider retook the lead in the first half with an 18-6 that allowed them to lead by 10 at the break.
- Harris knocked down a three that capped a 6-0 Bears run early in the second.
- The Vaughn three mentioned earlier was the final shot made in a Rider 6-0 run to go up 11.
- Jordan Davis took over for a two-minute stretch of the second scoring eight unanswered.
- And finally, Rider closed the game on a 7-0 jaunt.
BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE

- Bodie Hume kept the Bears in the game early making four 3-point shots on the way to finishing with 15.
- Jonah Radebaugh and Kai Edwards totaled 20 rebounds by grabbing 10 apiece.
