UNC women's tennis fell to NAU 6-1 Friday
GREELEY- The Northern Colorado women's tennis team continued its five match homestand Friday when they hosted Big Sky opponent Norther Arizona. The Lumberjacks got the better of the Bears with a 6-1 decision.
NAU earned the team double's point by taking the No. 1 and No. 3 pairings. The Jacks top duo of Blanka Szavay and Chiara Tomasetti took down UNC's pair of Beth Coton and Remi Immler 6-0. Northern Arizona then earned the team point with a 6-4 final at the third spot.
During singles play, Northern Colorado was able to pick up a team point thanks to Courtney Schulte. She won her match over Brandy Walker 4-6, 6-4 (4).
Norther Arizona won the other five single matches. Anna Battersby did push her bout to a tie breaker, but fell 6-1, 1-6 (3) at the No. 1 spot.
The Bears will close out the homestand on Sunday when they look to get back to .500 against Montana. First serve between UNC and UM is set for 10 am at the Butler-Hancock Tennis Courts.
