Bears Host Rams for StrikeOut Cancer Game

Northern Colorado will play CSU on Wednesday for a 3pm matchup
GREELEY, Colo. – The Northern Colorado Softball team hosts the Colorado State Rams on Wednesday, March 16 in the Annual Strike Out Cancer game.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season, the first resulting in a win for the Rams, 10-2 in six innings, in Fort Collins.
CSU junior shortstop Haley Hutton currently leads the Rams in batting average at .475 (in 20 games, 61 at bats). Hutton also has a team-leading 29 hits and 19 runs on the year, with five triples, one double, and one home run for an outstanding slugging percentage of .705.
Colorado State has an overall on-base percentage of .391, with 147 hits, 108 runs scored, including 13 home runs.
Northern Colorado junior Erica Dick leads the Bears in batting average with a .367, on top of her team-leading 18 hits, six runs, and nine RBI.
The Bears and Rams have met 32 times before since 2003, with UNC winning just five of the meetings. Northern Colorado last won in 2014 in Greeley, defeating CSU 9-8.
Strike Out Cancer is a program run through the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, raising awareness and money in the fight against cancer. All money raised at Wednesday's game will go to Banner Health NCMC Breast Cancer Center.
All StrikeOut Cancer donations will be collected at the UNC Promotions Table throughout the game. Be sure to show your support and wear pink!
The Bears are back on the road following Wednesday's game for their final non-conference road trip of the year.
UNC will head out to Logan, Utah for a three-game series against Utah State, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday, March 19 (12:00pm; 2:30pm).
