UNC women's tennis finished its fall season at the Jon Messick Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Northern Colorado's women's tennis team headed up the road to Colorado State for the Jon Messick Invitational last weekend, taking on CSU, Wyoming and Iowa State in the four-team tournament. The tournament was set up similar to a dual meet where the team's played against each participants doubles and singles teams. No team scores were kept.

Best Performance
Lily-Ana Kreutzer ended up going 3-3 combined in singles and doubles action, including taking two of her three doubles matches with teammate Marissa Baca. The duo defeated Solene Crawley and Sandra Keta from CSU 7-6 (6) and Erin Freeman and Liera Bender of ISU 7-5. The singles match she won came against Sandra Keta of Colorado State, 6-2, 6-1.

Other Results
- Anna Battersby picked up a pair of wins in single play for the Bears. She defeated Madison Porter of CSU 7-5, 6-2 and Liera Bender of Iowa State 6-4, 6-3. Both wins came in the No. 6 singles match.
- Despite not picking up a victory senior Beth Coton played well in the No. 1 singles spot. She fell in three sets to both Iowa State's Maty Cancini and Colorado State's Emily Kolbow.

What's Next?
UNC is off until the spring season when they start dual match play. The first match of the spring season takes place against Colorado on January 21.
