The Bears and the Bengals matchup in Pocatello, Idaho this Thursday, Jan. 7 at 7:00 p.m.
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado (4-10, 1-1 Big Sky) is back on the road looking for its first win away from Bank of Colorado Arena this season. The Bears first Big Sky road test is Idaho State (6-8, 0-1 Big Sky) who is coming off a loss to Weber State last Saturday, 77-56.

Scouting The Bears (Game Notes) (Big Sky Notes)
- The Bears began Big Sky play with a split, defeating Eastern Washington (96-90), but falling to Idaho (75-70) at home.
- UNC is still in search of its first road victory of the year, sitting 0-5 in games played away from Greeley. The last time the Bears picked up a road W came on Feb. 7, 2015 at Southern Utah, 84-80.
- Both league-opening games saw 20 point performances from junior guard, Jordan Wilson and junior forward, Jamal Evans. Wilson dropped a career-high 26 points against EWU and Evans followed it up with a career-best 24 points against Idaho.
- Northern Colorado remained hot from beyond the arc in the two games, going 20-of-43 (46.5%) combined. The Bears lead the Big Sky in three-point field goal percentage, shooting 40.4% on the season.
- In its last six games, UNC has averaged 3.7 blocks a game, notching five blocks in two of those games.
- Junior guard, Jordan Wilson has the best assist to turnover ratio in the league with a 1.9 ratio, averaging 3.6 assists to 1.9 turnovers a game.
Scouting The Bengals (Game Notes)
- ISU 0-1 after playing just one Big Sky game during opening weekend. The Bengals fell in Ogden to Weber State, 77-56.
- Ethan Telfair led the Bengal scoring with 15 points, six rebounds and four assists. He was nine-of-10 from the free throw line in the loss.
- Idaho State currently sports three players averaging double figures in Ali Faruq-Bey (15.7 ppg), Ethan Telfair (14.9 ppg) and Geno Luzcando (11.5 ppg).
- ISU has won the last three meetings vs. Northern Colorado in Pocatello. The Bengals won 73-70 on Feb. 6, 2014, 86-63 on Jan. 5, 2013 and 99-94 (2OT) on Jan. 26, 2012.
- ISU is averaging 35.1 rebounds a game, the most since averaging 37.7 during the 2005-06 season.
Treys For Days
- The Bears put up season-highs in three-point makes and attempts in last Saturday's loss to Idaho. UNC made 11 shots from downtown and attempted 30. In the Big Sky opening weekend games combined, the team shot 20-of-43 (46.5%).
- With a season average of 40.4% on three-point field goals, UNC remains the best shooting team in the conference from beyond the arc, percentage wise. The 40.4% also gives Northern Colorado a 17th place ranking in NCAA Division I standings.
- The Bears have three players shooting 40% or better from three point range in junior guards, Dallas Anglin (48.0%), Anthony Johnson (41.9%) and Jordan Wilson (40.0%)
- Johnson currently leads the team in three point makes with 31, followed by Wilson's 28.
- Northern Colorado has had eight games where they hit at least 8 or more three pointers.
Pocatello Drought
- UNC has lost its last three matchups at Idaho State, 73-70 (2013-14), 86-63 (2012-13), 99-94 OT (2011-12). The Bears haven't won in Pocatello since the 2010-11 season when they knocked off the Bengals, 77-74.
- Northern Colorado and Idaho State met just once in the 2014-15 season with the Bears coming away with the victory in Greeley, 79-76. The team was led by Cameron Michael and Jordan Wilson. Michael scored 24 points and Wilson added 17 in the three-point victory.
- In the last 10 meetings between the two teams, UNC holds a 6-4 advantage.
- The series history between the two teams dates back the 1947-48 season with the two teams playing two games in as many days. ISU won both matchups, 47-39 and 53-51 (OT).
10 Points Or More
- Since the Colorado State game on Dec. 13, Dallas Anglin, Anthony Johnson and Jordan Wilson have scored at least 10 points or more in every game.
- Wilson has reached double figures in all 14 games, while Anglin has scored at least 13 points or more in all six games he's appeared in. Meanwhile, Johnson has also reached the double-digit mark in 13 of the 14 games and is on a current streak of seven games with 10 points or more.
- UNC is currently 2-4 in games when all three have reached double figures.

- New this year the Big Sky Conference will be headed to Reno, Nevada for both the men's and women's tournament. The #RoadToReno will begin on New Year's Eve and take place over March 7-13 for the women's tournament.
