The Bears and the Lumberjacks tip on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2:00 p.m.
GREELEY, Colo. – UNC (6-13, 3-4 Big Sky) is looking for its first Big Sky road sweep since the 2012-13 season when they visit Northern Arizona (3-14, 1-5 Big Sky) on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 2:00 p.m.

Scouting The Bears (Game Notes)
- Northern Colorado picked up its first road win of the season on Thursday night, downing Southern Utah 90-80. UNC is now 1-7 in road games this season.
- This is the second time this season UNC has picked up back-to-back wins, with the first coming over York College and Colorado State.
- Junior guard, Jordan Wilson scored his fourth 20-point game of the season, dropping 24 points in the win over SUU. Wilson has now scored at least 10 points or more in 19 straight games, which is the current UNC D1 record.
- Fellow junior guard, Dallas Anglin scored just 7 points in the win at Southern Utah. It was the first time this season (11 games) for him that he had failed to reach double digits.
- UNC is 8-4 against Northern Arizona under head coach B.J. Hill with two of those four losses coming just last season.
- Freshman guard, Jordan Davis has come on as of late. Davis has six straight cames in double figures and dropped 16 points at Southern Utah. The second highest total of his young career.
Scouting The Lumberjacks (Game Notes)
- NAU is coming off its worst loss of the season, falling at home to North Dakota 101-59 and have only beaten one Division I opponent this season in Southern Utah (73-63).
- The Jacks have three players averaging double figures on the year, led by Kris Yanku who is averaging 14.6 ppg, 5.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists. Ako Kaluna isn't far off Yanku's pace, averaging 12.5 ppg and hauling in 6.6 rebounds. Jaleni Neeley rounds out the trio at 10.6 ppg.
- Northern Arizona went 2-1 over UNC in the 2014-15 season, beating them in Flagstaff (65-60) and in the opening round of the Big Sky Tournament (63-57). The last time the Lumberjacks lost to UNC at home came on Feb. 20, 2014, falling 74-59.
- The Jacks have lost 9 out of their last 10 games, and are riding a three-game losing streak heading into Saturday's game.
- In his last three games against the Bears, Kris Yanku has averaged 16 points, 5.6 assists and 6 rebounds.
The Next Step
- Head Coach B.J. Hill stated that getting the first road win of the season at Southern Utah was just the next step in the team's progression.
- UNC sits at 1-7 in road games after its 90-80 win over the Thunderbirds and is 1-2 in league play away from Greeley.
- The Bears have won their last two games, only the second time they've put a streak of wins together this season.
- UNC lost to NAU last season in Flagstaff, 66-60 with Cameron Michael the only player to reach double figures for the Bears. Michael scored 22 points in the loss.
New Highs
- UNC set numerous season-highs in its win over Southern Utah, but perhaps the biggest was the team's free throw totals. The Bears ended the night 31-of-41 at the charity stripe, both highs on the season. The 41 attempts were just the sixth time in the program's D1 history that they had gone to the line 40+ times.
- Redshirt freshman forward, Ibrahim Sylla scored a career-best 10 points in the game, while redshirt sophomore forward, Jeremey Verhagen grabbed a career-high 8 rebounds in the win.
- Junior guard, Jordan Wilson dropped his fourth 20-point game of the season, pouring in 24 points in the win at SUU. Wilson was just two away from his career-high of 26 which he set earlier in the season against Eastern Washington on Dec. 31. He also extended his double figures streak to 19 straight games.
- Northern Colorado also fired 51.9% (27-52) from the field, just the third time this season they've shot 50.0% or better.
Statistically Speaking
- The Bears not only picked up their first win of the season on the road, but also their first win when trailing at the half. UNC is now 1-12 this year when down going into halftime.
- UNC also improved to 6-1 on the year when shooting outshooting its opponents. The team held Southern Utah to just 44.4% percent on the night.
- It was also the first win of the season for the team recording less assists, steals and blocks than its opponent.
#RoadtoReno
- New this year the Big Sky Conference will be headed to Reno, Nevada for both the men's and women's tournament. The #RoadToReno will begin on New Year's Eve and take place over March 7-13 for the women's tournament.
